There is a myriad of Art and Culture choices in the three main cities in Highlands County.
Lake Placid, the “Caladium and Mural Capital of the World,” also has the Caladium Co-op (Gallery) and Lake Placid Art League’s offerings.
Sebring’s Alan Altvater Cultural Center, along the shores of Lake Jackson, is the home of Highlands Little Theatre, Highlands Art League’s MOTA (Museum of the Highlands), Yellow House Gallery and Visual Arts Center, and the Sebring Historical Society and Public Library. Downtown Sebring is also home to several independent Art Galleries in the Circle Park and North Ridgewood Drive areas.
Avon Park is fortunate to have the South Florida State College’s beautiful performance venue, the MOFAC (Museum of Florida Art and Culture) Museum, and the TAG Art Group in the Jacaranda Hotel in Avon Park.
