The South Florida State College 2012-13 Artist Series kicks off with the comedy musical Nunset Boulevard on Saturday, Dec. 1, 7:30 p.m., in the SFSC Theatre for the Performing Arts. This all-new show is a follow-up to the 2008-09 season’s popular Nunsense and features wacky and unpredictable comedy, audience participation, and heavenly voices. The show is written and directed by Dan Goggin, the creator and writer of the Nunsense franchise.

In this hilarious new chapter of the Nunsense series, the Little Sisters of Hoboken are thrilled when they think they’ve been asked to perform at the famous Hollywood Bowl, only to arrive and find they’ve actually been booked at the Hollywood Bowl-a-Rama. Things are not going smoothly as the sisters try to sing over the announcer and the bowlers on the lanes. The plot thickens when the sisters discover that auditions are being held across the street for a movie based on the real-life story of Dolores Hart, the ‘50s Hollywood starlet who gave up her acting to become a nun. Each of the sisters thinks that they’re perfect for the role!

Nunset Boulevard stars TV’s Cindy Williams as Mother Superior. Williams is best known for her starring roles as Shirley Feeney in ABC’s Laverne & Shirley and the 1973 film American Graffiti.
This performance is sponsored by Highlands Regional Medical Center, the SFSC Foundation, Inc., Dr. Patrick and Mrs. Mercedes Carruthers/Heartland Breast and Imaging Center, and Dr. and Mrs. C.B. Patel.

Tickets for Nunset Boulevard range in price from $34 to $41. They are available for purchase online at www.performances.southflorida.edu or at the SFSC Box Office, 863-784-7178. SFSC Box Office hours are Monday-Friday, 11:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m. and is located in the front of the SFSC Theatre for the Performing Arts, 600 West College Drive, Avon Park.
