SEBRING, Fla. (March 12, 2017) – The Highlands County Tourist Development Council (TDC) and the Sebring International Raceway (SIR) recently announced the new name of the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge, which will be referred to as the ‘Visit Sebring 120” this year. The race will be held on Friday, March 17 and is held annually the Friday before the internationally acclaimed Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh from Florida.
“We are very pleased to partner with the Raceway this year on branding the Visit Sebring 120,” said Highlands County Commissioner & TDC Chair Don Elwell. “This classic racetrack has been and continues to be integral to our county’s tourism and growth, and we appreciate this tremendous opportunity to get our brand in front of thousands of Highlands County visitors.”
TDC representatives will attend the race and serve as the Honorary Starter and Driver Call guests, and the race has its own logo that will be included on the Winners Circle banner showcased during the post-race ceremony.
The IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge is sanctioned by the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) and features sports cars from manufacturers worldwide, straight from the showroom floor, racing side-by-side with only minor modifications. The two classes competing simultaneously on track are Grand Sport (GS) and Street Tuner (ST). The Visit Sebring 120 is a two-hour race (120 minutes) starting on Friday, March 17 at 3:40 pm.
